Daniel Sandu

Dani Sandu is a researcher, academic and consultant with several years of experience in Romania, Europe and the United States. Most recently, he has been working for the World Bank in Romania on issues of social protection, governance and sustainable development. He has extensive experience in working with local and international organizations, such as the European Commission, the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, Open Government Partnership, on sociological research, public policy, global governance. Dani was awarded the prestigious Fulbright Junior Scholarship to study Political Science and Sociology in the United States, 2010-2012, where he also taught as an assistant professor. Apart from his more recent activity in public policy and research, he also has a working experience in political campaigns, having worked in multiple campaigns in Romania and for the Barack Obama re-election campaign of 2012, in Ohio. Since returning to Romania, Dani has worked with multiple NGOs and private sector initiatives to increase political participation, improve civic culture and offer social protection to the underprivileged. He is very fond of traveling, running and has been an active member in an improvisational theater band since 2015.
