Nina Moica, arrested in 1959 and sentenced to 20 years of hard labor during her teenage years, remembers the terror of prisons, which confiscated the sweetest period of her life. Radu Filipescu, a young man eager to spread his message of protest in Bucharest in 1983, is arrested and then pursued by the Securitate until December 22, 1989. These are just two examples of Romanians who took on the challenge of the regime, with all the consequences that came, making us almost ashamed of the ease with which we squander our freedom today.
