Maybe you’ve been to FFIR before, maybe you wanted to, maybe you’ve heard of us, or maybe you haven’t. Regardless of the answer, we invite you this year to be part of FFIR17, meaning the Film and History Festival of Râșnov, now at its 17th edition, which will take place between August 8 – 24, 2025, with the main theme: “(Anti)system.” As our loyal audience has already come to expect, we aim to bring together at this edition over 50 film screenings, 20 artistic projects, 60 special guests, 50 artists, and 30 scholarship students at the Summer School for young participants.
Although we have had time to explore the Romanian artistic scene and beyond, we are sure we have missed many new ideas for concerts and performances, especially the “different” ones, the kind you don’t see everywhere. For this reason, FFIR is launching an open call for cultural managers and artists (either emerging or experienced) to submit artistic project proposals that are directly or indirectly related to the festival’s current theme, our permanent theme, Transylvania, or anything you believe would fit like a glove into our unique story. We are especially looking for new, creative, original, and innovative projects dedicated to the festival—premieres or in-house productions—without restrictions in terms of genre or artistic style.
The venues where we are expecting you are:
Râșnov Fortress Garden (open-air, 6 x 8 m stage, sound and lighting system, maximum 1000 spectators)
Evangelical Church (indoor, functional historic organ, with or without sound system, maximum 300 spectators)
La Lift Square (open-air, 1.80 x 5 m stage, sound and lighting system, maximum 150 spectators)
