1959: Gheorghe Dragomirescu, the head of the CFR Pașcani workshops, considered by many fellow citizens at that time "God's bread", is denounced to the Securitate because on the onomastics of his friend Vasile Cristea he sang "Deşteapta-române" and "Vîntuleț de primăvară". Dragomirescu is sentenced to 10 years of forced labor, and Vasile Cristea to 4 years of compulsory residence. Gheorghe Dragomirescu arrives in the Periprava camp on December 6. He died in terrible torment on December 14 and is buried somewhere in the Periprava-Grind area. His body was never found.
